KISUMU DAY HIGH SCHOOL.
The school was started in 1961 as First African School by colonial government at that time to cater for African population in town which could not be taken to the other boys’ school- KIsumu Boys Secondary School which was only for European and Asian children. Its first Principal was called GEORGE KING OMOLLO. So far 13 numbers of principals have headed the school. The current Principal is called MR. WILLIAM MESSO MOLLA.
This institution is located at the city centre and about 2km from the shores of Lake Victoria the second largest fresh water lake in the world. This lake is rich in diverse bio-life that is also a source of income to the local community. The Kisumu National Museum is a few meters from the school and this is an educational centre to our students and the community for it is rich in cultural history and heritage. The Impala Game Park is also about 2km from the school where our students learn more about the wildlife and peculiar wetland wildlife.
In terms of curriculum our school has a four year course where those who successfully pass go to the public universities. We offer the following subjects: English, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, French, Geography, History, Agriculture, Kiswahili, Business studies among others.
